Fishing Reports: Happy New Year! Believe it or not, we are still catching red groupers in good numbers on our 8 hour charters. On December 28, we were out about 25 miles from Clearwater and caught 24 keeper reds and a 24 inch flounder! (We are allowed to keep 4 red groupers per person. However, gag grouper fishing is currently closed.) We trolled 40 minutes back toward Clearwater and caught 2 bonitos to top it off. Our 4-6 hour charters have been producing nice catches of gray snappers and gag groupers. Once in a while we catch a couple of keeper red groupers to throw in the box . We have also done some trolling for bonitos as well as kingfish. The grouper season will close February 1st and reopen on April 1st . So if you feel the need to go and catch some of these tasty morsels ,let's book a 8 hour grouper charter while they are still here and the season is open. We can also put a split charter together so just call ahead or book us on the website.
